HOW DOES IT WORK?
The GACC South manages the apprenticeship program and works with its clusters of employers to recruit apprentices, assist with developing customized company training plans, facilitating “Train the Trainer” programs and administering Program exams. GA CATT employers select and hire the apprentices who become their employees. Apprentices are paid an hourly wage during the hands-on training and tuition for courses toward their associate degree is covered.
Apprentices are in school 2 days/ week and on the other 3 days, their on-the-job training takes place at the GA CATT employer. In addition to high school and college level coursework, GA CATT apprentices earn national and international certificates.
